Ocean Pearl Wild Caught Tiger Prawns are easily recognised by their distinctive stripes, which turn bright red when cooked. These prawns are notably larger than other prawn species, making them an impressive choice for serving. Their flavour profile is marked by rich, savoury notes, complemented by a firm and meaty texture that lends itself well to whole preparations, including butterflying and grilling, roasting or barbecuing. Ocean Pearl Tiger Prawns are a good source of protein, Omega 3, Phosphorous and Selenium and are naturally low in fat.
THE FISHERY
Ocean Pearl Wild Caught Tiger Prawns are sourced from the Northern Prawn Fishery (NPF), Australia’s largest and the world’s first tropical prawn fishery in the world to be MSC certified sustainable. The NPF is located off Australia’s northern coast, the fishery extends from the low water mark to the outer edge of the Australian Fishing Zone. Ocean Pearl Tiger Prawns are mainly caught during the months of August to November each year.
